Kayseri

Kayseri: The Seljuk Capital & Winter Wonderland

🌍 History & Culture

Sitting at the foot of the majestic Mount Erciyes, Kayseri is a city where ancient history meets modern commerce. It served as a major center for the Seljuk Empire, evidenced by its stunning madrasas and tombs. Today, it is famous for two things: being a premier ski destination and its legendary cuisine, particularly Pastırma (cured beef) and Mantı (Turkish dumplings). It is also the gateway to Cappadocia.
