Why is this tour compared to the landscapes of Sri Lanka?
The Black Sea region, especially around Rize and Artvin, features incredibly lush tea plantations, misty mountains, and vibrant green valleys that bear a striking resemblance to the highlands of Sri Lanka. This tour focuses on that rare, emerald-green side of Türkiye that many travelers have yet to discover.
What kind of weather should I expect in the highlands of Trabzon and Rize?
The Black Sea climate is famously unpredictable and humid. Even in the summer, the plateaus (yaylas) like Ayder can be misty and cool. We recommend bringing a waterproof light jacket and sturdy, non-slip shoes, as you will likely experience the region’s signature "rain-kissed" atmosphere.
Are the drives to Uzungöl and Ayder Plateau difficult?
While the roads into the mountains involve winding turns and steep inclines, we use specialized, high-comfort tour vehicles managed by experienced local drivers. This allows you to sit back and enjoy the breathtaking views of waterfalls and dense forests without any stress.
Will there be opportunities to experience local Black Sea traditions?
Definitely. Beyond the scenery, this tour is a deep dive into "Laz" and "Hemsin" cultures. You will have the chance to hear the unique sounds of the tulum (bagpipe), see the traditional stone and wood architecture of Ottoman-era mansions, and visit authentic tea factories to see how Turkey’s national drink is harvested.
